SKY3DS+ team announced that orange button sky3ds+ latest firmwareV110 will be updated soon. This new kernel allows users to play any new 3ds games with sky3ds+. The most important change is that users do not need to use gamelist.bin file any more with firmwareV110 which means you only need to place the 3ds games to your microSD card and then start play 3ds games.

We will release the new firmware V110 for sky3DS+ later this week, which enable you to play any new coming game
directly, no need the gamelist.bin file any more now! please add the line “CREATE_PER_GAME_SETTINGS=1” into your
settings.txt file as soon as possible , make sure all your games .CFG are built properly before this new firmware udpate.

Note: it won’t be able to read a game’s saved file if its .CFG file is not exist after this new firmware update applied.

How to update sky3ds+ firmware from v100 to V110?

1. if you have played 3ds games with sky3ds+firmwareV100 and you want to remain the save files for your games. Please please add the line “CREATE_PER_GAME_SETTINGS=1” into your settings.txt file if this line didnot exit.
Then start play the 3ds games which you want to backup rom data. Then copy the .save file and . cfg file for this game to your PC.
2. Download the latest firmwareV110 from sky3ds official site, and copy it into the root directory of your microSD card.
3. Insert your microSD card into sky3ds+, and then connect your sky3ds and your PC with the USB cable.
4. The LED red light will turn on for 10 seconds, then turn to the green light and keep flashing for 10 seconds, once the light turn off it means the sky3DS+ has been updated successfully.
Alert: Never unplug the USB cable while the green light keep flashing, it might damage your sky3DS+ card!
5. Delete the firmware.bin file in your microSD card.
6. Then copy the .save file and . cfg file for this game to your microSD card. Now start your 3ds game with save data.

Nowadays, many users has gotten their sky3ds+. How to play online games with sky3ds+has resulted in a hot discussion. The only way to play online games is to get the private header from the genuine gamecard. Many users want to konw where to get private header?

In this post, we will introduce you how to get Monster Hunter X private header to play MHX online with sky3ds+.

Requirements

1× NEW/OLD 3DS v4.1-9.2
1× Gateway3ds/ Mt-card/R4 card
1× Gateway3DSHelper.zip
1× Genuine 3DS gamecard(Monster Hunter X)

1. Bootup your 3DS console with gateway3ds, go to the gateway 3ds menu. Remove gateway 3ds red card and insert your genuine 3DS gamecard. Select “BACKUP 3DS GAME CARITRIDEGE” and click”STRAT“ to begin. When it is done, there will be a *.3DS file created in your 3DS SD card.

2. Insert sd card to card reader and insert the card reader to your PC.
Download Gateway3DSHelper.zip and strat it.

②If the rom can not be recognized automatically ，please click ②(设定Rom 目录) to read the Rom.
③ You can click here to change the Rom’s name.

3. Click ① and you can see the private header information of this rom.
If you need the public header , please click ⑤ and select 导入（import）to get it.
Tips: There will be a high risk of being banned if you use a public header.

4. ①Start MHX, and then open the settings.txt in your sky3ds+ MicroSD card. set the CREATE_PER_GAME_SETTINGS = 1(default 0, can change it anytime later) and save it
If there is no this line(CREATE_PER_GAME_SETTINGS), please add CREATE_PER_GAME_SETTINGS = 1 to the settings.txt by yourself.

② Start MHX again and then change the CREATE_PER_GAME_SETTINGS =o back. Click the .cfg file for this rom.

③ Add the private header to “GAMESAVE_KEY=” and save it. Then you can turn on your wifi and play 3ds games online.

By the way, we can not only use gateway 3ds to dump the private header. We can also use DS flashcard to do this.
One r4 card or a Ac3ds plus or DSTWO, we use dstwo as example.
1. Copy datwo kernel and gateway[Blue Card (R4i)] files to the root directory of Micro SD card

2. insert dstwo to 3DS console and then install “GW_INSTALLER”.Then click 系统设置→その他设定→ユーザー情報→DSソフト用设定 to go gateway menu.(when the lower screen becomes white, hold on L button and you can go to gateway menu).
3.Remove your r4 card and insert the real game cart. Select “BACKUP 3DS GAME CARITRIDEGE” and click”STRAT“ to begin. When it is done, there will be a *.3DS file created in your 3DS SD card.

A:Sorry the out of region roms can only still be played on the sky3DS+ via NINJHAX and its built-in Region-Free Launcher.

Q:I just purchased the latest version of Sky3ds+. wonder if you have the instruction to edit the private header for the online game play?
A:Open the file settings.txt, add in the line “CREATE_PER_GAME_SETTINGS=1” and save it, once got the
file “xxxxx.CFG” for that online game built in your microSD card, open it and replace the value of the “GAMESAVE_KEY” with your private header info(Unique_ID), save it and enjoy your online play without ban risk!

Q:How can i install a game like Monster Hunter 4 or Xenoblades to my MicroSD card? Since the file format of the MicroSD should be in FAT32 it won’t allow these big files to be transfered to it.
A:For those large size roms (4GB), you can use the 3rd party rool to trim it to the small size, sky3DS+ works fine with the trimmed rom! we will fix it in coming new firmware update anyway.

Q:Just want to know if there will still be updates for the old blue button sky3DS template file.
A:We are still working on a AP checks solution for the old cards, and will keep the template updated as well.

Q:Where is the file firmware.bin? I can’t find in the download page.
A:The newest firmware V100 comes with your sky3DS+ card, no update needed at the moment.

A: You do not need to download firmware.bin. The sky3ds+ has been installed the firmware.bin, please place the gamelist.bin and the 3DS roms to your sky3ds+ MicroSD card.

A: Please make sure your second Rom is comeplete and try another MicroSD card. Sandisk SD card has the best compatibility with sky3ds+.

Q: Is sky3ds+ compatible with the .cia game ?
A: No, SKY3DS+ can only support original retail game card dumps .3DS format, it doesn’t support the .cia game.
